Our network

A small UK-only backbone, kept deliberately simple. AS208971, originating one IPv4 /22 and one IPv6 /44 from RIPE NCC.

Points of presence

Peering and transit

We’re present at:

Transit from three independent tier-1 carriers (NTT, Cogent, GTT). Maximum prefix protection enabled on all sessions. We do not accept transit-free routes from peers.

Capacity

Backbone is 100 Gbit/s between London and Manchester over dual diverse circuits (BT Openreach and Zayo). Reading is connected at 10 Gbit/s via Telehouse North.

Routing policy

We publish AS-SET AS-5XYZ at the RIPE IRR. Prefix length filtering follows the standard RIPE-532 recommendations (max /24 for IPv4, /48 for IPv6). RPKI ROAs are signed for all prefixes we originate.

RFC 5635 BCP38 ingress filtering at customer aggregation. We honour blackhole communities for upstream-anchored DDoS at /32 and /128 granularity.

Looking glass / status

A public looking glass and per-POP status page are on the roadmap for 2026 Q3. In the meantime, contact NOC at noc@5xyz.uk for ad-hoc traceroute or BGP queries.
